Key Responsibilities:

Design electrical control systems and circuits for bespoke engineering projects.
Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and supporting technical documentation.
Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
Perform electrical calculations including cable sizing, load calculations and component selection.
Interpret customer specifications and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
Support projects through manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning.
Collaborate with production, service and project teams to resolve technical challenges.
Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical standards and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product development.

Requirements:

A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 3 years’ experience in an Electrical Design Engineer or similar role.
Experience designing electrical control systems and producing electrical schematics.
Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
Experience carrying out electrical calculations and component selection.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
A full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable experience includes:

AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar design software.
PLCs, HMIs or industrial control systems.
Machinery, automation or bespoke equipment design.
Commissioning and fault-finding experience.
Knowledge of CE/UKCA compliance and machinery safety standards.
